Apparently, Chris Jericho has more skills as a comic than as a ballroom dancer. The pro wrestler was the latest to get the boot on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," and in his parting remarks, he made the audience laugh at his relief in being eliminated.
"It's actually good timing that I got eliminated," he said, "because I have to fly over to England for the royal wedding, you know, so it was going to affect rehearsal! But actually, let's be honest, it wasn't my best dance, and at this point in the competition, you have to be at your best every week or this is what happens. But I'd like to say I'm proud of all the dances we did, and I'm proud to show that a WWE guy and a rock-and-roll singer can go this far and do this."
Jericho appeared to be a judge favorite, even though he'd dropped to the bottom of the scoreboard this week.
During Monday night's telecast, the judges said that they thought Jericho was letting the pressure get to him. After he danced the tango to Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'," Carrie Ann Inaba told him that he lost his personality and the dance wasn't believable.
After he was eliminated on Tuesday night, Jericho also gave his professional partner Cheryl Burke kudos.
"The only reason I got this far was because of Cheryl; she's a great performer," he said. "I haven't seen my kids in four weeks, so it's time for Chris Jericho the Dancer to step aside and Chris Jericho the Daddy to come back."
